Exams... Finally Over

Hey Mom!
I remember the time we had to study all day,
Really! No kidding! And I didn't get a say.
English, Chinese, Mathematics, Science.
If you don't get A you better write lines.
English, I don't know what "comprehension" is.
Too bad I just can't ask my sis...
Chinese, what? I don't get you!
Wait a minute! 'shen me shi zhu'?
Math, just draw one straight line.
Then write down a number from one to nine.
Science, not enough study for me.
Oh no! Can't believe it! I got a sixty-three!
What's been done is over,
no point changing it over.
So, Mom, don't you see the logic in it?
And you won't scold me, right, not even a bit?

Ohmygod

Ohmygod

Oh,what just happened?
My my,what have we got here?
God,an Ohmygod!

By Ohmygod(another way of saying:Guess!)

NOTE:THIS IS NOT A POEM!!!

Hey People,

Just to let you guys know that we(Su Ning,me,Hui Yi)won't be posting on our blog as often as we used to. 6th Grade is alot harder and busier than 5th!So don't expect too much from us because we're super busy with all those irrelevant projects like portfolios and DSA but, yeah, you get the point. So our *used to be daily* *now is monthly* poems will get less and less and less until we finally announce that our poem blog is good enough for a company to try out advertising on our blog. Then we'll get richer and have more time to spend on writing poems! So support us! =D

Poemly,

Li-Ann(on behalf of Su Ning,Hui Yi and myself because I seem to be the only one who's free enough)

Thank you,

Rounds of "Survivor"
Instead of "Sciberdiver"
Pulling out tails
Much faster than snails
"Ow!"That was Cacia,
biting into a foccacia,
while pulling out tails
And checking her emails!
"Yay!"Oh,it's Jeanette.
She just went surfing on the net.
Survivor is such a riot
Everyone's not-so-quiet.
While pulling out tails and
Fastening them back on.

Singapore!

Singapore was a mighty port,
A mighty port was she.
Trading spices, cloths and pork,
It was magnificent as can be.

British rule was kind of cool,
Long since Sir Raffles came.
Then, Whoosh! Like rain the Japanese came,
And started to play the ruling game.

We fought a long and gruelling war,
Tan Chong Tee and Elizabeth Choy,
There are more whom we should remember.
That saved this land from tyrannical Japan.

The British surrendered.
Oh my! Is it better?
But no! No! Life was not better,
Instead, it was bitter!

The conquering of Singapore and Japanese rule,
It made the British look like fools!
Life was surely far from cool,
The people simply didn’t know what to do!

The Americans decided they needed a break.
Do they want coffee, or do they want cake?
Instead, they invented the “Little Boy”,
This proved to be their favourite toy.

The “Fat Man” came along,
And was in the limelight.
Its power was great,
And the fire was bright.

The Japanese cried, “Oh, why?”
They sighed, “Many thousands have died! Oh my!”
They signed the surrender,
2 days into September.

Yippee! We’re free!
It’s joy! It’s glee!
The period of sorrow has ended!
Our new life has started!

It’s time for us to come together,
To make Singapore better and better.
We’ll let people know that we are strong and free,
And that they can’t bully us so easily!

The Considerate Kid

I am a considerate kid.
I don't run and spit.
I don't throw things at people's head,
and make the groan and lie in bed.
When I'm asked to throw the trash,
I do it silently, without a crash.
I don't trip everyone about,
neither do I get kicked out.
Cos' I'm a considerate kid,
And hate stealing candies, I won't take a pick!

There's something you really need to know that,
that I have never , ever, caught a cold.
I guess it's because,
I always floss,
After eating my food,
that's cooked ny the cook.
And so that's why ,
in bed I never lie.
Cos' I'm a considerate kid,
I do things that I'm bid.

But one day when it started to pour,
I stopped reading those books of folklore!
I threw things at people's heads,
making them groan and lie in bed.
And when Iim asked to throw the trash,
I do it loudly with a bash!
Now I trip everyone about,
Now I always get kicked out!

I asked myself what happened to me,
And dear me! I started to see!
That I've turn into an inconsiderate kid,
Harming everything that's within reach!

The Things That Happened Today

Our test was over,
just today.
Our teacher hollered,
at En Cui.
Emma and Amanda,
said hooray.
Rui En was absent,
cos' she was eating Lays!

We did all our corrections,
before we got scolded.
And, thankfully,
we were not smothered in the toilet.

School was over,
before we could ask her, (Rui En)
about whether she preferred her mother or her father!

Internet

Internet

The Internet is fun,
the Internet is cool!
Send a email on it
and the person'll get it too!
We should always use it
In our emergencies and needs
Because on it we don't worry
about our hatred and greed!

By Hoong Li-Ann

Spelling?

Spelling

I simply hate spelling
How it makes people moan
When the teacher’s voice dictating words
Simply becomes a drone.
It’s good if you get an A+
But bad if you get a zero
Because no matter what you do
There is always no hero.
It’s good for pulling your marks up
But you lose your beauty sleep
Spelling simply makes you feel
Like wriggling your feet.
So in conclusion
Is spelling good?

Oh, I hope not!
Because they are, well,
NOT GOOD!

Food

I like to eat dumpligs,
but not potato stew.
I love chicken nuggets and cauliflower too.
Hot dogs and chocolate,
are some of my favourites.
While salt and sugar,
can give you a heart failure.

By Hoong Li-Ann aka Food Monster and Goh Su Ning

Vomit

I simply hate vomit,
it makes me blue.
It smells as bad,
as rotten stew.
The poor sick people have to endure its stench.
And obviously it worse than livin' in a trench.

By Hoong Li-Ann
Inspiraition from Cacia Tan Xian Yin (Cos' she vomited in class today)

Bus

Waiting for the bus is a bore,
I can even find a spore.
But, never ever did the bus I awaited,
seemed to come near.
But when you're not looking,
the bus is just moving across you.
Hey bus!
Wait for me!

During those Days

During Those Days,
when the gramaphone played,
and chalked was used and the donkey brayed.
When scones were popular,
and dresses were the craze.
And pictures were triangular,
and ladies were muscular.
In those days,
Oh in those days,
they all grew,
and they had you!

Test

Everyone hates it
they simply cannot do it
Adding and Subtracting,
Writing and Experimenting
just to get into the teacher's good books
and get full marks in their report books.
It makes the students stay up late
just to study for the next exam date
I hope I never come across it
Wait a minute!There's a test next week!

Olympics

How do you like your Olympics?
With your camera, you can take some pics.
Archery and Swimming,
Shooting and Bowling!
People come from Europe, America,
The Artic and Antartica!
And buy a Jing Jing or a Bei Bei
to brighten up your day!
Hope you have a nice time there,
Wait!Are you even going?

How?

How to write a poem?
I simply don't know how.
What to do when you are blue?
Besides writing with glue?
I simply cannot
eat a carrot
to improve my sight
and shoo away a mite
Oops, got to go
and dig some holes!

National Day...

National Day...

At the national day,
Crowds and crowds eating Lays,
and the Flyer way up high,
So cheats can catch the show while fly(ing)
But you'll be sure,
that you can endure,
a performance that will unravel,
a sight that is spectacular.
But remember to sit at the back,
cause there's extras there.
And get out quickly,
or you will....

Eight Million!

Eight Million!

Tomorrow I'll see,
A crowd of people in front of me
N I hope you know why,
The Toto draw is coming by.
So please don't get in my way,
cause I'll like to win this day,
and make myself a millionaire,
to buy lots and lots of shares.

But...wait!
Why am I talking about me?
Oops, I've gone crazy,
I've been stung by a bee!

Hard?

Poem writing is just so hard
I don't even have time to eat some lard
I know I'll never be able to write one soon
Maybe never, maybe at noon
But whatever I do, I never will
Write a poem for my will!

Schoolastic

School is boring, makes you blue
Just go there and meddle with glue
Friends, teachers, students and you
It just makes you feel like you are in the zoo
What else makes you grovel and yell
break out in sweat, does it ring a bell?
It's school, school!It's true!
It's SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By Goh Su Ning

That Guy's Voice

His voice is crinkly, crusty, crackly
His voice is broken, olden, old
A tinkle is not a jingle
But instead
like that lone who sol' rags and bones
Yeah, that's what he should do!
Just do it and grow old.

Voice

Voice

I fear that voice
That boring, droning voice
It gets on my nerves
As he describes a hearth
Everyone will fall asleep
Listening to him weep
About Addition and Subtraction
Division and Multiplication
And that voice is none other than
Our Teacher's voice, which sounds like a wren!

Who was always on the net
She played all night, she played all day
From January to February to April to May
No wonder her friends all called her Internetty
They all thought that she had gone nutty!
Until that fateful day when she became
A giant computer with a name!
